Re-list due to non paying winner who go let down on the sale of his own car, so I gladly let him out of the sale as his winning bid was less than it cost me to import it, so not taking nay chances on a no-reserve auction this time. This classified ad gives up to 28 days for you to decide if it's what you want, sell your own car if necessarry and come and actually look at this lovely old classic car.

This would make an excellent first time American classic, it's a reasonable size so not scary as a first time left hand drive, and easier to park than the big ones, and as a 6 cylinder, the fuel bills should be manageable, whilst the auto trans makes sure you don't have to worry about gears if you're not used to left hand drive. It's also practical to take the family to shows, you probably wont be parked near another one as it's pretty rare, and it doesn't really need anything doing to be able to use it straight away. Being a blue oval, it also fits in at any classic car show, especially Ford only days. Being a Ford from the '60s it's also very easy to work on and parts are readily available on the internet. these are the bullet points: read on for full description.........

Hi, welcome to our ebay listing for our classic vehicles. Rock'n'Roll Motors is a new business based in Grangemouth, Central Scotland and was primarily set up as I got made redundant and decided to turn my classic vehicle hobby into a business. I have been selling the odd American car on my other ebay handle v8.jimmy, and there you will still find some vehicles being sold, as the ones on the v8.jimmy site are personally owned and are being sold to help buy stock for this business on this ebay account. As Rock'n'Roll Motors, we import American classic cars and trucks, restore and sell, or sell as projects, we can handle shipping from California to Scotland for your own transatlantic purchase, we can repair or restore your classic vehicle (from a motorcycle to a heavy goods vehicle) at competitive rates. We also do wedding hire with a 1957 Chevrolet BelAir and a 1960 Mercury Montclair. Okay, now you know who we are and what we are about, let's get on with this listing..............

Recently imported in our first container of three vehicles, this 1964 Ford Fairlane would make an ideal starter classic American car, and being off white, could also earn money as a wedding car. Not as big as a full size yank, this is a good size (about the same as a Granada or similar) to fit in UK parking spaces, garages, etc. It should be fairly economical to run, being a 6 cylinder 200cu in engine with a 3 speed column change auto transmission. Upon import we found that the front floor pans required a bit of work, which has been done, one new tyre was needed, handbrake pull handle was replaced, and maybe a few other small issues. The welding to the front floor pans was done to a very good standard, and that is all the welding that has been done to this car....ever. It starts right away, even after lying around for a while, and drives very well, though carb does have a bit of a flat spot some times. The auto trans changes as it should and it runs along nice and quiet, handles quite well and stops nice and straight despite it having non power drum brakes all round. All electrics were working (heater is very good) but horn has stopped for some reason. Interior is very clean, carpet is clean but a bit faded with the California sun. Driver door has a little paint rubbed off inside at door opening handle. Other than that, interior is really pristine for age. Inside boot is very clean and tidy, as is engine bay. Exterior wise, paint is good, but an older paint job so not perfect, though very presentable. It has a couple of light knocks which should show in the last three pics. One piece of stainless trim is missing from right rear door, I'm currently looking for a replacement. Car was in daily use in California before we imported it, and in the pics it still has it's California black plates. We do have it registered and it's on a "B" suffix as is correct for 1964. We will have a set of American sized plates made for it. We already have some normal UK plates which do not fit in the recesses, but we left the CA plates on as we used it in a major film with major stars which was shot in Glasgow last year (16th to 18th sept). We actually had 8 vehicles in the film, and when the film is released, the last owner should be able to see his car running around in San Francisco (Glasgow) with it's original plates still fitted!! Kool!!

So, there you have it, a nice useable, fairly rare American car. You will be the first UK owner apart from the importers (us) and the car already has film status, and has never been seen at a UK car show, so, buy it now and show it next year.

Although we are based in Central Scotland, please do not let this be an issue for you as I pride myself on my descriptions and must add that on my other accounts and via magazines, I have never ever failed to sell a car to the first person who travels to see it! If you know what you are looking for, and do decide to come and see, I can assure you the car will be as described here. There is no point in me telling lies about a car, as, quite simply, when you come and see it, you will not buy it if it's not as described, so, a big waste fo time for me and a waste of time and money for you. I have no wish to deceive any potential buyer, I've been on the receiving end of that in the past, travelling many hundreds of miles to see something very much different from what was described to me. I aim to change that as a business seller. I'd rather gain a new friend and not sell you a car than sell you something and make a new enemy!! I am an enthusiast first and business man second.

If you want to come and look, I can pick you up at Edinburgh Airport, or Linlithgow or Falkirk rail stations and return you after your visit. The above asking price includes FREE UK mainland delivery, though if you offer less, you will have to collect or pay for delivery yourself, though I can still arrange that at a good price.

Contact us through ebay, our own website, or e-mail horn.chevy@blueyonder.co.uk or jim@rocknrollmotors.co.uk  or phone on 07593 187939 or my home number (though I'm never in!) is 01506 822878. Thanks for looking and please don't hesitate to ask any questions.

Payment terms are as follows: cash on collection, bank wire transfer before car leaves here, or cleared cheque, before car leaves here, NO PAYPAL on this.
