for year the odd scuff but for a 13 year old car its in better nick than most new ones to be fair. Interior is very clean and basically car has been left as standard. It comes with an alpine mini disk player and alpine cd changer in the boot. Now the bad bits, sunroof motor needs hooking back on, the motor works but the sunroof doesnt move. The air filter box is missing ive looked around and you can get one on here for 30 quid. Other than that its a fantastic motor and any inspection welcome before you buy. the car from a local dealer in April 2009, (being only it`s second owner since August 2002) with a recorded mileage of 76757.We have used the car regularly making it our ‘motorway’ car; a role it was very well suited to. The power steering and light clutch make it very easy to drive and park. While it won`t break any speed records it accelerates quite nicely and on a journey I have averaged over 30 MPG quite regularly.There is very little service history, though we do have the original handbook; whilst in my possession we have had the following work completed:-New Tyres all round (77000)New Cambelt Kit (77049) New Front Wishbones (78844)New Clutch Kit (80515)New Coil Pack (89170)In addition to being regularly serviced by our local service station; the last service was at 90612 which also had the Air Con re-gassed as well.We have all the paperwork for the work done which will, of course, be included in the sale along with the handbook.The car still has the factory fitted CD/Radio unit which works perfectly; it has electric windows but not the electric seats which were a popular option on these Fords.The bodywork in is excellent condition, with no bumps or scrapes, well above average for it`s age while the cabin is pretty good condition too; the only fault being a small hole in the fabric of the driver seat (as shown in the final photo).It has a cavernous load space even before the rear seats are folded down as you can see from photo..This is a car which has been well looked after and should give it`s new owner many miles of motoring.It has a current mileage of 93000, is taxed until the end of March (2012) and I have put on a full MOT (Jan 2013) which she flew through without any advisement`s.We would ask for bidding to commence at £650 without reserve with the purchaser to pay (Paypal or Cash) and collect within 7 days of the auction ending.Please E Mail me if you have any questions about the car.Barrie. Whe putting the car in first or reverse gear you have to do so with the engine off. Once you have put it in gear you can start the car up and sit stationary with your foot on the clutch and then release the clutch and drive as normal. You can sometimes force it in to gear with the car running but it crunches. It is missing one of the alloy wheel centre covers on the drivers side front wheel and there are a couple of scratches on the rear bumper. It would be such a shame to break this car for spares as it is in such good condition with low mileage and mot up to 1-11-2012. It comes fully loaded with leather electric heated seats, climate control, electric windows etc. The engine is Fords rated 2.0 zetec which is smooth and responsive and starts first time. Everything i.e clutch, gearbox, steering and electrics etc all seem to work as they should and its recently had new tyres, the only thing that I have noticed wrong is a rumbling noise at motorway speeds, I thought it could have been the wheel bearings but I have had it checked over by a mechanic who thinks its just tyre noise coming from the new tyres. The interior is in very good condition with very little signs of wear and looks stunning in black leather, the exterior is in very good condition apart from a dent/scrape on the drivers door (see pictures) I am only selling this car because I have a 6 month old baby and Its hard work getting him in and out of the back seats so I`ve now got a 4 door. bit of a project car for me and I had big plans (turbo, big brakes, etc.) but unfortunately as is always the case with projects, funds have not allowed me to see them out.As such I`m reluctantly putting this car for sale, I bought it last year from the previous owner who claimed to have had a new engine installed (he said about 45,000 miles ago) and the American Cougar S ECU fitted as well although I don`t have any receipts to prove this.All I can say is that compared to my Integra DC5 the car is suprisingly quick and extremely tourqey.It`s extremely comfortable on long journeys and comes with a whole host of lovely extras including but not limited to:- heated front seats- heated front and rear windscreen- new head unit (with DVD player and USB connectivity) - old head unit is included with sale- unknown model Speedline alloysCar has recently been taxed for 6 months and MOT`d until May 2012, and has had new pads and discs on the rear.Bad points of the car are:- Bad parking scrape near the fuel filler cap.- Passenger side wing has been damaged where it has been jacked up incorrectly.- Very slow powersteering leak.I`m not looking for a quick sale, and don`t want any time wasters please. The car has probably one of the best engines that Ford ever used, the Duratek V6, no cambelt worries here as it is a chain. I have one set of remote keys (needs new battery) and spare keys for ignition, boot and doors The alloys could do with being refurbished but it’s never really bothered me. (This is a 12 year old remember)) The few small negative points are the following Air Con needs re-gassed The sun roof will not open as one of the plastic guides has broken; this was a very common fault on the cougar. Dent in bottom of passenger side front wing, It could be filled in and re-sprayed or get another wing from breakers or on eBay. See Pics The passenger seat will not fold forward due to the connecting wire having jumped from the release button, this should be easily re-connected. It has stone chips and the front of the bonnet could do with a good polish, there are very minor small dings that all 12 year old cars have, but nothing really to worry about. There are no oil leaks all fluid levels are perfect I will include new rear discs, oil filter and fuel filter. So there you are I’ve been as honest as I can, the only reason that I am selling is I now require an automatic as I have just had a hip replacement and I struggle now to get out of the car. Suspention, Traction Control, Thatcham Cat 2-1 Alarm I bought this car around 2 years ago as a second car (I have a work van). I have since driven it less than 1000 miles but have spent a fortune on it, upgrading and generally tidying it up. Since I bought the car I have fitted: ~The 17" wheels and tyres (all tyres still have plenty of tread), ~A full custom made stainless steel exhaust (not loud) made by exhausts uk (the exhaust makers for `pimp my ride uk`) with life time warranty (I will pass the receipt on to you), ~Replaced the flexy pipe and manifold gaskets at same time as new exhaust, ~Uprated vented discs and pads (front fitted, I will give you the rears, but the standard ones aren`t in need of replacement as yet), ~Front and rear privacy glass (front 2 are very light, rear 3 are dark), ~Front and rear drop links, ~Uprated Apex suspension springs(lower car by 30mm), ~Brand new genuine Ford alternator and drive belt, ~New battery, ~Water pump (uprated metal rotor one), water pump belt, and thermostat, ~Spark plugs and ht leads, ~Air filter, oil filter and oil have been changed twice since I`ve owned the car, ~All head light bulbs are new, and also fitted all new dash bulbs as a few were out when I first bought the car, ~Genuine Ford CD head unit instead of original tape deck (coupled up to original 6 disc changer in the boot), ~Genuine Ford ariel base and ariel, ~Aero flat windscreen wiper blades, ~Windscreen washer jets and washer hose`s, ~Plus loads of small bits and pieces Ive done over the past 2 years. In total I have spent in excess of £2000 on this car, plus the purchase price (I have the majority of the receipts and loads of past sale receipts dating back to 2005). Only 3 previous owners!!!! The car has covered just under 100.000 miles, but is in great condition. The interior is super clean and the seats are in good condition. On the outside the car is also in great condition, the only flaws are the usual couple of car park dings, including a light scuff to the rear bumper as can be expected from a car of this age, and also a thin scratch on the mid to low rear quarter (none of these really stand out and I can`t pick them up on camera). The only slight bits of rust are to the surface only and are on the inside edge of the front wings (this can`t be seen unless you look inside the wheel arches).The engine bay is very clean and tidy. The previous owner removed the air conditioning (pump, radiator, pipework etc...) to improve economy. (However hot and cold heaters are still working). Ive had this car average 37 mpg over a 50 mile motorway journey sticking to 70mph, and around town it always averages between 20-25mpg, so not bad for an old V6 if you ask me. Also running costs are not stupidly expensive, this car is only insurance group 14 and only costs me £400 a year fully comprehensive (male 27 with 3 years no claims). It flew through the last mot with only 1 advisory (rear drop links) which I have since replaced. Also fitted to the car is a `Lazer Line` thatcham 2/1 aproved alarm (this was fitted by the previus owner and I have the certificate for insurance purposes). The only reason for me selling this car is the fact that I no longer need it (I`m now able to use my work van for personal use). Without me nit picking I have been as honest as I can, but please come and view this car before bidding as I`m sure first to see it will buy it. I am fully aware of the market price for these cars now, and although I am not expecting to get back what I have put in to it, I can honestly say that it is an excellent example of a `Ford Cougar`!
