Report this review I bought a used 06 Focus 1.8 TDCi Sport 5 months ago. Prior to this I had a 1.8 petrol Focus for nearly 5 years which gave me no bother. I changed to a diesel due to the mileage I do, and the car seemed ok though I wouldn't exactly call it sporty, but it drove ok once you got used to how easy it is to stall at low speed, and my fuel costs came down. I started getting an intermittent engine systems fault light a few days ago and it now turns out the turbo needs replaced at huge expense! Needless to say im not impressed as it only has 40k on the clock. I will be getting rid of it ASAP. Report this review I got my Ford Focus 1.8 TDCi (52) in Feb of this year with 75k on the clock from a dealer and it's had 1 owner from new, who was obviously a rep with what's on the logbook. I've modified it with filter, s/steel exhaust etc and it hasn't smoked once goes very well. It's lowered with bigger wheels on it and handles like a dream. Try Redex diesel treatment if yours smokes, I've just put some in to clean the fuel system out before it ever does.
