By having a higher roof line and a much larger boot space the Fusion is one of the most practical superminis you can buy - The interior and luggage space is actually fairly close to a Focus. It also offers a slightly higher driving position to a conventional supermini, giving easy access and excellent visibility. | This is the sought after 1.4TDCI diesel version of this car - A car that combines practicality with staggeringly low running costs. Ford quote an official combined fuel consumption of 62mpg, but driven carefully the Fusion can actually top 70mpg (official extra urban figure is 72.8mpg). Because of its frugal engine and low carbon emissions this car only costs £30 a year to tax, and this along with cheap insurance make this one of the cheapest-to run 5 door cars you can buy. This particular car is the sought after Zetec climate model with smart alloy wheels, front fog lights and air-conditioning. It has covered 99k miles having had 2 private keepers from new. It is a clean and well presented car which is finished in metallic "panther" black which is by far my favourite colour for this car. | Being a Ford, the Fusion is a fantastic all-rounder with proven reliability and low running costs. It is the perfect small family car, with 5 comfortable seats and a deep boot. The higher than normal driving position means access is easy and there is height adjustment for both the drivers seat and steering column, so drivers of all heights will feel comfortable behind the wheel. It is hugely practical and comfortable with an excellent ride and superb handling. A neat feature of this car is its ability to not just fold its rear seats flat, but also the front passenger seat to give it the carrying capacity of a small van. It may be practical, but it is also good fun to drive. The engine feels willing and offers ample performance with a top speed of 98mph. | The steering is light but remains positive and the ABS brakes are reassuringly powerful. Being a higher spec "Zetec Climate" our car comes with electric front windows and air-conditioning. The whole car is completely original with its original CD stereo. There is also a front heated windscreen and the Fusion comes with remote central door locking. It still feels thoroughly modern and in reality it has everything you could possibly want from a small family car. | The Fusion comes with a brand new MOT until May 2013 which was passed without any advisories.
