Being the Ghia X which is the top spec model it comes with full leather trim making it very very comfortable and even has heated and power seats. It has all the `gizmos` of its time makeing this a luxury car. I have been driving it once a week since his passing and have had the battery replaced, it`s amazing for it`s age it drives like a new car. Unfortunately there is some rust on the 1 lower rear wheel arch and a small scuff on the rear door, however I can honestly say the rest will not dissapoint and once sorted you would have an extremely nice car. Being a powerfull automatic it would perhaps make a great car for towing a caravan. Unlike alot of cars of it`s age it has not been just used and abused. It is a credit to Grandad. It is in my opinion mechanically excellent and drives without fault. Should you desire a vehicle inspection you will not be wasting your money. On close inspection you will find a few marks to the paint, i.e. rear bumper due to loading, but make no mistake the overall appearance inside and out is very good indeed. we own, it has towed it approximately 4 times! (2 trips to Cornwall, 1 to Tenby and 1 to Lythem St Annes. Other than towing the trailer it has been used primarily as a school run car and shopping!! So a completely under-used car! An absolute shame as it runs beautifully as you`d expect. It had 16,000 miles on the clock when we bought it and in four years we have added another 19,000, thats averaging less than 5000 a year! Like I said completely under-used, Total 35,876miles at time of listing. It is fully dealer serviced and had its last service on 21-1-2012 and MOT 3 days later, ( had to replace a tyre) and is taxed until end of May 2012. There are a few little marks on bodywork as you`d expect, nothing that a touch up pen from Halfords won`t sort, and the alloys have been kerbed a few times, like I said its been a shopping and school run car driven mostly by my partner, I drove it with the trailer on!!! [mores the pity :-)] But all told, a fantastic car and absolute bargain with this mileage! and to take me to the station on occasion when I went into London. Unfortunately she has been parked up for the past month as I now have a company vehicle. She had a brand new battery only a few months ago, 2 new rear tyres about 2 months ago and is in average condition for her age. There is a dent on the boot which I will try and add a picture for (about the size of a average sized hand on the top part of the tailgate). Other than that, nothing nasty and untoward whatsoever.I need her gone now as I just do not have space on the driveway and she would be better serving somebody else than just sitting there.The Bad News (if you can call it that) - I thought it best to apply an MoT for the sale, but she failed. The reasons for failure are as follows (the MoT testers words not mine):1. Offside Number plate not working2. Rear sub frame bush bonding deteriorated resulting in excessive movement3. Nearside rear parking brake efficiency below requirement (possible caliper).I have been told the tracking is out resulting in the front tyres prematurely wearing also so this needs to be done.To a competent mechanic or good DIY`er probably no more than a few hours work and being a Ford, relatively cheap!!I do not have the time to get all of this sorted which is why one lucky person can buy it from me and get it done themselves, this could be a bargain for someone! it as i need a 7 seater for the kids it is a full ghia spec but a lx its got 16" ghia alloy wheels with good tyers full electric windows a/c heated front and back windows ford door sill protectors front fog lights and lots more. this car has had lots spent on it i put a new fan belt tensioner on it new discs and brake pads. Iv serviced it myself so its had a full sevice got all paper work to show iv done this as the car is missing some stamps out of the book.the car has got 165000 miles on it but it runs and drives well. This car was perfect for my motorway commute with low mileage (56K) and in very good condition with decent life left on the tyres and good service history. | I had all wheels balanced due to a very small wheel wobble at about 50 mph and replaced all wiper blades given my intention was to keep this vehicle. | However last week I decided to have a run in with a wall. The result is a not so mint Mondeo now being sold as spares or repair. | I drove the vehicle 35 miles home after the incident and apart from the vehicle pulling to the left slightly it drove ok. This would make a profitable project for a mechanic with the skills to repair or for breaking given the decent condition and low mileage pre accident. | Damage | Front bumper is damaged and will need replacing. | Impact to cross member on nearside corner (shown in picture 12). Airbags did not deploy, this was fairly low speed. | Radiator was fine on journey home, the level in the reservoir had dropped but not emptied fully. It is now empty as it has been sat for a week (possibly just a leak in hose) | Bonnet and wings have moved, you can see by the panel gaps but I believe are salvageable. Auto lights Heated windscreen Half leather interior Factory uprated and lowered suspension over standard Mondeo 6 speed box Sony sound system with CD changer Aux input for MP3 players 18inch alloys with good quality Hankook tires, Fronts almost new, 4 wheel tracking recently done. Factory fitted ST body kit including front spoiler which doesn`t appear on the Titanium X from 2005 onwards 2.2 TDCI engine with cam chain, so no costly cam belt replacements! | The 2.2 engine pulls like an absolute train and still returns 50-60mpg! Its basically the same car as the ST but without the spoiler or the recaro seats (or the price!) 18 inch alloys are a little corroded so could do with a refurb if you`re bothered. It has been the perfect car for the past couple of years with a run to the south of France last summer a pure joy. I don`t commute with it so only long runs on motorways and A-roads.
