and half the price. Please do not let the mileage put you off this car, as it does benefit from a very good service histroy. There is a stamped service book upto 80,000 miles by Benefield Ford and then from there on is a folder full of receipts for all service items again these are from Benefield Ford but the last owner did all his own servicing. The last invoice is for a service carried out by a local garage at 142,815 miles who also replaced the front discs and pads at the same time which was on the 10/02/12. New Windscreen in 2010, no chips... There are bills and invoices going back years for all kinds of work and parts. New tyres, wheel bearings even going back to the garage because they had a CD stuck in the system. Wheels refurbed back in 2008. To be honest could probably do with them been done again but not as bad as some I`ve seen. The previous keeper obviously only ever used Ford Parts because instead of going for the cheap option the car is fitted with geniune Ford wiper blades front and back marked up with the Ford badge as proof... There are 2 remote keys both working Owners manual with stamped service book. Key and radio codes. With this been a top of the range Ghia x you will I`m sure already know what you get for your money in relation to luxury extras, ie heated/cooled seats etc etc I won`t bore you with listing everthing because if your looking at this car then you will already know what you get for very little money. The engine is lovely and sweet. Showing no signs of its mileage, no rattles or knocks, its not losing any water or oil just drives lovely and very responsvie as you can imagine been the 155bhp model, certainly the one to have after driving the standard 130bhp models. I could go on and on about how nice this car is for the money that I`m asking, but i do recommend coming down for a test drive and viewing just to appreciate how nice it looks. Please don`t get me wrong it has done nearly 150,000 miles and it is 7 years old so there are age and mileage related marks, mainly scratches no nasty dents. All the tyres are good with plenty of life left in them. I have taken one or two pictures of the interior just so you can see how clean it is in there. The drivers seat is showing no signs of wear at all. I`m not sure if its had a cover on all its life because its very clean, no wear on the bolsters as you would expect at that mileage. Everthing inside works exactly as it should. The A/C blows nice and cold. Auto lights and wipers I carn`t really find any faults with the car what so ever really. I do recommend a viewing if possible before buying. I have tried to describe the car as best I can but please bear in mind it is only my opion and I would rather the potential new owner come and view first. This is only open to UK bidders. Anyone with less than 10% feedback must get in touch prior to bidding otherwise it will be removed. I do require a deposit of £100 no later than 24hrs after the end of the auction and the rest cash on collection pls. expires 31/7/12 & MOT expires 17/8/12. Most of the servicing has been done by an independent mechanic . It comes with the Thule roof box and tow bar.I had the cam belt replaced at 85k miles; last year replaced the battery, catalytic converter and fuel pump. There`s plenty of mileage in the tyres. It drives very well - did a 100 mile round trip over bank holiday with no problems at all. Obviously its showing its age- there are several small dents , scratches and the rear bumper has a couple of splits in it. The interior has a few scuff marks. The electronic key doesnt always work as it should so I tend to lock/unlock it manually. The roof box has been patched up at the top. This Economical (50 MPG Combined) Ford Mondeo TDDI Diesel has been Fastidiously maintained from new regardless of cost with no expense spared. The Previous Owners have done their utmost to keep this family saloon in tip top condition and when taking age and mileage into account, they have definately succeeded. This vehicle Looks and Drives Superb and is punching above its weight! It`s as genuine as they come with no signs of any abuse or neglect but I wouldn`t expect any different, this isn`t the type of vehicle to attract a boy racer is it? It is very straight and level. It was 1st registered on 02/04/2002 and has had 3 Previous keepers only, the most recent purchased this TDDI on 29/08/2008 so in his possession for nearly 4 years in total. From experience you usually find that when a vehicle has been in the same hands for such a length of time in most cases it will have been treated in the right manner, this standard example has! This Stunning looking Ford Mondeo belies its age and mileage and wouldn`t look out of place on a used Ford Dealer forecourt. I have also checked under the bonnet and both the oil and water are clean and fresh looking and all fluids are at the correct levels. This vehicle has been Very Well Kept and is a credit to its previous keeper. I have given this TDDI Diesel a thorough test drive over the last week and have travelled around 100 miles overall and I cannot fault it in any way, it starts, drives and stops as it should. It is Extremely Practical and one of the most Economical Family cars I have owned. This Mondeo Diesel *115 BHP* produces on average 50 MPG, that is what I achieved when travelling to Preston this week, £10 will get you 100 motorway miles no problem, this car did a 50 mile trip up the motorway and performed effortlessly, it will overtake without issue and the power from the *115 BHP* unit is there when needed. No issues at all! On start up the engine is quiet and sounds positive, it revs freely and is very eager to pull in every gear. The Steering and handling are perfect, you turn the wheel and it instantly responds there is no sign of wheel wobble or drift here. The brakes are sharp and brought me to a swift stop and in a straight line. The 5 speed gearbox is a dream, all gears are selected with ease and the clutch is nice and light biting just below halfway. To be honest when behind the wheel the only way of telling this cars mileage is by looking at the odometer (137k), it feels as tight as a drum and is a true testament to its Previous Keepers. Overall this is a Superb example of the ever so popular Ford Mondeo, it looks and drives Fantastic. You will not be disappointed. I really cannot fault this vehicle. Please take into consideration that this car isn`t new, there is some minor blemishes as expected and everything stated is my opinion which may differ from yours so a viewing is highly recommended. I am an honest person and I value my 100% feedback highly, I take time and put effort into my work, if there is anything to report fault-wise I do!! These engines were built to last and have been renowned over the years as being bombproof if looked after correctly. It comes in Metallic Red paintwork that looks Stunning from all 4 corners with no nasty touch ups or botched repair jobs, this car has been valeted and is gleaming, hard to believe that it has covered 137k and is 10 years old. The Exterior is Very Clean and Tidy when taking age and mileage into account, there is no major damage around the bodywork and all panels are totally straight with matching gaps all-round. From 5 paces away this Ford Mondeo looks very level on all fronts and really does shine brightly, the Metallic paintwork looks Stunning and really sets this car off. There is no major scratches, scuffs, dents or missing trim to be seen and no harsh rust that you sometimes see under the arches or at the bottom of the doors. Overall this is a clean and tidy car for its age with minimul blemishes. I have tried to show everything in the high definition pictures for your own peace of mind! As expected on any used vehicle there is the odd minor ailment that I prefer to mention. There is a very slight mark to the rear bumper edge, the front grille is cracked and there is your usual stone chips to the front end, that is it really, please remember this is an 02 model! With a regular polish I am certain that any swirls and cosmetic marks will be cleared, non of the minor ailments stated need any attention and do not detract the overall good looks of this Stunning Mondeo. 90% wouldn`t even notice but I would rather state this and be honest as I find this to be best practice. No wasted journeys here. Obviously the car is now 10 years old so you may find the odd age related blemish here and there and a pin dint from Tescos carpark but that is it, there are no eye-sores or anything that jumps out at you. I am very critical on all my cars as I like to be as honest as possible before viewings. Any questions please just ask. All 4 wheels are in good condition with 4 original Ford wheel trims and all tyres have ample tread on them and will not need replacing for some time. Inside the Interior is in very good condition and holding up Extremely well, there are no signs of any abuse or neglect here, the Full Black Trim is Super Clean with no rips, scuffs or burns and there is no sagging material coming from the bolsters. The rears look like they have only been sat in a handful of times. The floor carpet is also very clean and tidy throughout with no nasty stains, toffee marks or holes in the foot wells and have been protected by overmats and the headlining, door-cards and dash area are all in tact and pretty much spotless. You will not be disappointed with the overall condition of this 2002 Mondeo TDDI. | The car starts 1st time and it drives A1, there are no knocks or bangs or any other odd noises, the engine ticks over as it should with no smoke coming from the exhaust, the gearbox is nice and tight and selects all gears with ease and the clutch is just halfway biting in the right spot. The handbrake and brakes operate perfectly. It returns 42 MPG around the town and up to 60 MPG on a motorway journey (approx) this Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDDI is one of the most Economical family cars I have owned, it will do 100 motorway miles on £10 no problem it really does run on fresh air. The drive performance and the build quality is exactly what you would expect from a 2.0 diesel Ford, it`s Reliable, Practical and Full of Extras, these Ford Mondeo’s are a joy to drive and would suit any kind of driver, this *115 BHP* Manual example feels very responsive when you put your foot down, there is no sluggishness or signs of hesitation felt. The sport suspension is firm and the car handles well with crisp and precise steering, it really does stick to the road like glue. Being the *115 BHP* model it’s Super Quick and will keep up with most hot hatches. In terms of everyday usability these Mondeo’s are up there with the very best and will perform on every occasion! Around the town it is very versatile and will get you into tight parking spaces no problem with its light precise steering and it will weave in and out of traffic just as well as a small hatch, even the not so confident road user will enjoy being behind the wheel of this Ford Mondeo TDDI. For all its Space, Practicality and Versatility, it’s the way this car drives that sets it apart from its rivals, it performs on every type of road and has everything you could wish. I have test driven this Ford for around 100 miles altogether on all roads, I found it really comes into its own on long hauls, it`s Extremely comfortable with a great feel through the controls and it`s more than capable at high speeds. Even when in the overtaking lane at 70 MPH the rev counter sits at around 2500 RPM giving in the region of 60 MPG, the engine is hardly being worked at these speeds, the suspension will ride potholes like they are not even there and the cabin effectively shuts all external noise out, what more could you ask for. It has good levels of safety and security equipment too, plus goodies such as a CD Player, Electric Seats and Air-Conditioning. Also the good Reliability factor means you shouldn’t need to have the car fixed too often, these 2.0 TDDI engines are known to be bombproof if serviced regularly and labour rates are more than acceptable too even at the main dealers so basic servicing and maintenance won’t mean you have to delve too deeply into your pockets. Used parts are generally cheap too and very easily accessible through ebay/scrapyards etc. Things are even better if you take the car to an independent where you’ll find average costs among the lowest for any make. Inside the cabin you get all the gadgets you could wish for and a very comfortable seating position that goes hand in hand with good visability, the layout out of controls is also very intelligent with switches for the trip computer and stereo attached to the steering column making selection easy whilst driving and as for space this Ford will fit 5 adults no problem with ample head and legroom. Space is a strong point with these Hatchback Mondeo`s, it has split folding rear seats and in the boot you could get up to 3 suitcases in with room either side. | These Ford Mondeo’s are a great bit of kit and a lot of thought was put in when on the production line, this LX model has everything you could wish for and more. What this has entailed is leaving a battery lead off overnight and placing back on terminal in morning to go to work. There is no need to remove lead at work, car starts fine in the evening for drive home, just been a problem when left overnight. So if you can live with opening bonnet twice a day or trying to find the problem then the car will serve you well. Being 7 years old it does have a couple of small car park marks, nothing that stands out though unless you are looking for them. Clutch and release bearing are fine, no rattleing noise as its quite a common problem on these cars. | Car drives brilliant, covering over 2000 miles in it since owning it i have not had one problem, no nasty bangs or nocks. Slight noise coming from rear wheel this is being checked when being serviced, sounds to me like a wheel bearing, its being done any way as ive said im in no rush to sell it. Its in use daily so mileage will increse. | The preivous owner before me had it for 6 years and had no problems. Has plenty of power and torque as its a diesel, and returns a good 40mpg around town, which for a car of it size is good! All the electrics on the car are in good working order, ive not come across any thing that isnt working. Many of these have quiet high milage on now, this one still has 1000`s of miles left in it, ive come across a few hitting 150,000. I then found this. | I had a mondeo as my 1st car and loved that, and this hasn’t disappointed. It starts 1st time every time regardless of weathers, uses no oil or water, the V6 engine purrs, is pretty quick and handles really well considering it’s a family wagon. The clutch is great, gears engage as expected, no knocks or wines, and stops pretty good too. | I have 2 keys, the central locking key with boot release and the master. | The car has a cam chain, not belt so no need to worry about that either. | It has tax till the end of June, and MOT till end of October. | It has a pretty comprehensive service history as shown in pic 12 and detailed below... | Essex Ford 25/07/01 7966k | Essex Ford 18/06/02 19180k | Essex Ford 24/01/03 25111k | Hanningfield Motor co 26/01/05 45903 | Essex Ford date not shown 53217k | Dovercourt Ford 31/03/06 61879k | Essex Ford date not shown 84327k | C.J. Clow 16/06/09 97385k. | It’s now done 104k so all is good in that respect, the coolant is a good colour and oil is still golden. | Inside the car is has a few nice options as standard like the front and rear windows have a built in demister so no waiting around on a morning scraping ice! I no summer is nearly here but next year trust me you will love that! | The seats are Recaros and hug very well. The rear bench behind the driver does have a small cigarette burn. The bolsters are hardly warn though, very good condition throughout. | It has a cassette player so if you have an iphone you can buy the adaptor and use it like that, it also benefits from a 6 disc changer under the passenger seat so load it up and you’re good to go for a while. It sounds nice for a standard system, and loud if you want to rock out! | As the car is 12 years old it’s not mint but look at the pics it still very nice, but it does have a few bad bits... | The n/s rear arch has a bit of a scuff and tiny bubble of rust in pic 10, the o/s bottom of the door join has been bitten quite badly and has flaked the paint off also shown in pic 11, it’s still motable as its not structural but looks a bit of a pig, but its classic of a mondeo and to be fair I have seen much worse. | The front tyres are low...still legal but will need changing soonish. There only 50quid a side so not bank breaking. The wheels could benefit a refirb as well but not too bad. | The airbag light flashes on a 4 flash cycle. I googled it and it’s the pretensioner on the seatbelt. Not much money to fix though, I have never got round to doing it. | I’m just being honest as I hate the fact people put cars on here saying "It’s the best around, nothing wrong" you turn up and they are sheds! | However please feel free to read the top again it’s as for the money it’s a hell of allot of car, and you won’t be disappointed for the money. | The reason im selling is purely due to me getting some money back from overpaid taxes and now wanting to upgrade to something else. | A cash deal is preferred although I might be interested in a swap or p/x with cash either way as long as it’s done to eBay’s rules and regs.
