Here we have in our possession another Fantastic Ford, here to sell is this Superb example of the ever so popular Ford Ranger Pick-up Truck. This is a Stunning and Fully Loaded 2004/54 Ford Ranger 2.5 TD XLT Thunder Double Cab, and they don`t come much better. It is a Manual version with a Full Black Leather Trim and it also comes with an ARB Canopy. It is Grey in Colour with Chrome Bars all-round and is also fitted with a Tow-bar with plug in Facility. It also has 4 Matching Tyres with Excellent tread on them, no cheap rubber here! It has had just 3 Previous Owners from Brand New and comes with a Very Respectable Service History consisting of 8 Stamps in the Service Book all of which are from Benfield Ford of Harrogate. There is also various receipts and invoices totalling £1861 including the Important Cambelt change at 67,000 miles by Ford Benfeild. There is a current MOT Certificate valid until 31st of January 2013 along with old MOT Certificates and it also comes with Road Tax until the end of July 2012. It was 1st registered on 31/12/2004 so it only missed out on being an 05 plate by 1 Day!! It has had 3 Previous Owners to-date. The most recent Owner a Mr Worthington purchased this vehicle on 07/04/2008 and has been in possession ever since, all Service and Repair work from that date has been done by Mr Worthington himself and his local garage. So in his Ownership for the last 4 years, from experience you usually find that when a vehicle has been in the same hands for a good length of time in most cases it will have been looked after in the correct manner, this example definately has. It isn`t a battered and bruised pick-up truck that has been abused all its life, in fact the total opposite, it`s been used for light use only. That said please bare in mind that it isn`t new so it does have the odd ailment. I have looked under the bonnet of this Ranger and both the oil and water are clean and fresh looking and all fluids are at the correct levels. It is clean and tidy throughout, the exterior is 8/10 and the in interior 9/10, all 4 Tyres are matching with excellent tread and the Truck looks the part from all angles. This vehicle has been Very Well Kept and is a credit to its previous keeper. I have given this 2.5 Diesel Pick-up a thorough test drive over the last 2 weeks and have travelled around 150 miles overall and I cannot fault it in any way, it starts, drives and stops as it should. It is Extremely Practical and one of the most Comfortable Trucks I have owned. This Ford Ranger XLT Thunder produces on average 32 MPG and a little more when on the motorway, that is what I achieved when travelling to Preston this week, this vehicle did a 50 mile trip up the motorway and performed effortlessly, it will overtake without issue and the power from the 2.5 Diesel unit is there when needed. No issues at all! On start up the engine is quiet and sounds positive, it revs freely and is very eager to pull in every gear. The Steering and handling are perfect, you turn the wheel and it instantly responds there is no sign of wheel wobble or drift here. The brakes are sharp and brought me to a swift stop and in a straight line. The gearbox is a dream, all gears are selected with ease and the low/high ratio function works as it should. The clutch is nice and light and it is ¾ of the way up. Not right at the top but above half-way. To be honest when behind the wheel the only way of telling this Fords mileage is by looking at the odometer (110k), it feels as tight as a drum and is a true testament to its Previous Keepers. Overall this is a Superb example of the ever so popular Ford Ranger, it looks and drives Fantastic and is the Flagship Model (XLT Thunder). You will not be disappointed. I really cannot fault this vehicle. Please take into consideration that this car isn`t new, there is some minor blemishes as expected and everything stated is my opinion which may differ from yours so a viewing is highly recommended. I am an honest person and I value my 100% feedback highly, I take time and put effort into my work, if there is anything to report fault-wise I do!! These engines were built to last and have been renowned over the years as being bombproof if looked after correctly. With regular oil changes there is no reason why this car will not go around the clock once again. We have had many Ford Diesels in stock with 200k on the clock and they still drove great. Have a look at others for sale some have 200k showing and they are still fetching £3700 plus VAT! What a cheap vehicle ours is! This fine example comes totally standard with no modifications or silly after-market touches and it hasn`t been passed from pillar to post with 6/7 owners showing on the logbook like the majority advertised. I am not going to say that "this is the best or the cheapest on the net" but if you are in the market for a Genuine Ranger Diesel that hasn’t been abused in XLT Thunder form and want change from £4000 then you will not go wrong with this example, it is very level and clean and comes with all your usual Thunder Refinements. It would suit a family or someone who needs Practicality. There may be plenty of these advertised but are they this genuine and original, plus please view our feedback of recent Fords we have sold, we stock at least 5 Fords at a time. Please see feedback and view in confidence.As you can see from the pictures this very highly regarded Pick-up Truck is in Excellent condition throughout and has been Superbly Well Kept by its Previous Owners. It comes in Shiny Grey Paintwork with an ARB Cover/Canopy, the bodywork looks Fantastic from all 4 corners and with the chrome fixings this Truck stands out a mile off. Non of the paint has lost any of its colour and it really does look well when cleaned. This Truck has been used for personal reasons not commercially so it isn`t looking like its had a hard life. There are no nasty touch ups or botched repair jobs here. The Exterior is Very Clean and Tidy when taking age and mileage into account, there is no major damage around the bodywork and all panels are totally straight with matching gaps all-round. Body-wise there isn`t much to fault. From 5 paces away there are no major scratches, scuffs or large dents to be seen and no nasty rust patches that you sometimes find on a Trucks bodywork. Overall as stated, this Truck is Clean and Very Level, if there was any nasty mark etc it would be stated. I have included high definition pictures and tried to show every panel for you to make up your own mind. Being just over 7 years old I couldn`t say that the Ranger is "Mint, or Out of the Box" because it`s not and there are some minor ailments that I prefer to mention. The Front Fog Lights are INOP, they have blown which is a common fault and do need replacing to get working again, the rear Canopy is not locking this needs a new lock or key!! The offside front window switch isn`t working. There is a spring or ball joint noise when you put full lock on (does not always do this), there is 2 small creases to the nearside front wing that was done by a football (easy pull out), there is a crease in the chrome bar at the rear and there is a small/slight scuff to the bottom of the quarter panel. Plus some stone chips to the bonnet. That covers everything, non of the ailments need any immediate attention, the Truck Looks and Drives A1. 90% wouldn`t even notice what I have mentioned never mind get it rectified, these are all just age related defects. Some may not even need the ARB Cover which would be worth at least £500 to sell on ebay. I have stated every known ailment as I find this to be best practice, I would rather you think "better than we thought, than not as we thought" I am a genuine seller and I value my feedback highly. There is nothing worse than a wasted journey when you have your hopes up of purchasing something new. Obviously the Truck is now over 7 years old so you may find the odd age related blemish here and there and a pin dint from Tescos car park but that is it, there are no eye-sores or anything that jumps out at you. I am very critical on all my cars as I like to be as honest as possible before viewings. Any questions please just ask. All 4 Alloy wheels are original Ford parts that came with the Truck when new and are in Excellent Condition and they are wrapped in Excellent Rubber with 4 Matching Tyres that have loads of tread left and will not need replacing for some time. Inside the cabin the Interior is in good shape showing minimul signs of wear and tear, the Full Black Leather Seats are Excellent with no rips, scuffs or stains and there is no sagging leather from the bolsters what so ever. The Rears look virtually un-used. The Floor carpet is also very clean and tidy throughout with no nasty stains, toffee marks or holes in the foot wells and have been protected by overmats and the headlining, doorcards and dash area are all in tact and pretty much spotless. Overall this is a clean vehicle and you will not be disappointed with its condition.This Ford Ranger starts 1st time and it drives A1, there are no knocks or bangs or any other odd noises, the engine ticks over as it should with no smoke coming from the exhaust the Manual Gearbox is Excellent with a very smooth change through the gears with high/low ratio working as it should. The clutch functions spot on and is above halfway when biting. The handbrake and brakes operate perfectly too. It returns 25/26 MPG around the town and up to 35 MPG on a motorway journey (approx). The drive performance and the build quality is exactly what you would expect from Ford, Comfortable, Reliable and Extremely Practical, this 4x4 is a joy to drive and will bring a pleasant smile to your face, it will perform in every situation, Rain, Fog or Snow and could be transformed into an Off-Road beast! The 2.5 TD engine is very responsive and doesn`t hold back when you put your foot down, there is no sluggishness or signs of hesitation felt. The suspension is firm whilst comfortable and the handling is crisp, this 4x4 sticks to the road like glue. Around the town it is very versatile, it can be manoevered into tight parking spaces and spun around in tricky situations, you can also weave in and out of traffic without much fuss, even the not so confident road user would not struggle to drive or park this Ranger, its light and precise on the steering and a raised seating position along with plenty of windows give you good visability. I have found on long hauls it really does come into its own being Comfortable and very Practical, it will cruise over potholes like they are not even there and effectively shuts all external noise out. It will also perform in the outside lane and keep up with most even with all seats occupied and the kids will have fun in the back too with large seats and plenty of space for there puzzles and PSPs. When at 70 MPH the rev counter sits at around 3000 RPM giving in the region of 35 MPG, The 2.5 TD unit is hardly being worked at these speeds and will easily do more if necessary. It has good levels of safety and security equipment too, plus goodies such as Alloys, Electric Windows all-round and Air Conditioning. Also the good Reliability factor means you shouldn’t need to have the car fixed too often, these engines are known to be bombproof if serviced regularly and labour rates are acceptable too even at the main dealers. Things are even better if you take the car to an independent where you’ll find average costs very competative so basic servicing and maintenance won’t mean you have to delve too deeply into your pockets. Also used parts are very accesible through ebay/scrapyards etc. Inside the cabin you get a very comfortable seating position that goes hand in hand with good visability, all controls and switches have been set in the right places making selection easy whilst driving and as for space, this Ranger is one of the most practical in its class. 5 adults can be seated no problem with ample head and legroom. The rear end is huge I have personally had the family out for a 50 mile trip with a loaded tail and not 1 complained of being squashed and the ride was Superb. This Pick-up could be turned into a temperary van for the afernoon or for a camping trip or to move furniture at the weekend, then back to the school bus Monday morning. Either way this highly rated Ranger has it all.In my opinion this 7 year old Ranger really excels from other pick-ups due to its blend of taut handling and quiet, long-distance refinement, plus its ability for Off-Roading. It drives much better than an L200 or Navara. Reliablity is also an appealing factor these 2.5 TD Ford engines have been renowned over the years as bombproof and good for upto 300,000 miles if maintained correctly. At 110,000 miles with Careful Mature Ownership, 8 Benfield Ford Stamps, January 2013 MOT and plenty of Tax, you will have to look hard to find better at this bargain price with NO VAT. You see these Rangers selling now for £4500 plus VAT with no History! There is no comparison. Many good years of motoring ahead for this average mileage example. Totally standard apart from the ARB Cover/Canopy. This Super Genuine example is cheap to buy, reliable and practical, if it’s a Ford Ranger XLT Thunder you want then this is the 1 to have, no question!
