The power is fed through a five speed gearbox to the front wheels - something that saves space as the usual rear drive tunnel through the middle of the vehicle is simply not there. It had come to the time where my wife's Ford Fiesta hit it's first service, and so got it in and took out a Ford Ka as a courtesy Car. We waltzed up to this inconspicuous little machine parked in the middle of a carpark. Well, almost new, as a demonstrator model I picked one up for the standard price, but included a lot of add-on options such as Sat Nav, Zenon Lights and parking sensors. The ST is a mighty quick car, and working shifts and often finishing before the world wakes I get to use the full benefit of the 150 brake horse power. It pulls away from a standing start quicker than any Diesel I ... ...reach the advertised top speed of 140 odd mph (on a track of course.) The Mondeo ST is quite luxuriously kitted out inside. There is heated seats and air con, both of which continue to work as they did the day I got her. Advantages: Ghia trim includes lots of extras, fantastic looks, great MPG, could type hundreds more! Disadvantages: Electric windows sometimes seize up (easially fixed though), radio face plate gets loose over time ...This was due to Ford not lubricating the window rails well enough in the factory. However you can easily put that issue right by taking the door card off, and spraying some Silicone spray on the rails! Oh, and the other problem is that the face place for the radio will start to loose connection, and cause the radio to go on and off when the car hits bumps etc... As for fuel economy, my Fiesta gets 47 MPG, that that isn't driving like a granny, that ... ...line, changing gear at 3,000 RPM, and it gets almost 50 Miles Per Gallon! Fantastic! If you go for the 5 door variant, the rear seats are actually quite roomy! However, the 3 door is a bit cramped to be fair!
